Hola a tod@s, hoy os voy a hablar un poco sobre bases de maquillaje, que tipos hay, texturas, como elegirla y como aplicarla.
Hi everyone, today I am going to talk about foundations, types, textures, how to choose it and how to apply it.
En el mercado podemos encontrar muchos tipos de texturas en bases de maquillaje, desde la típica fluida, compacta, polvos sueltos, compactos en crema, mousse, vamos a hablar de cada una de ellas en particular.
In the market we can find a few different textures of foundations, fluid, compact, loose powder, cream compact, mousse, we will talk about each of them.
Otra opción para pieles más jóvenes o para el verano sería una crema con color para unificar el tono de la piel sin añadir una base con mayor cobertura.
For more young skins or for the summer I suggest a tint moisturizer for light cover and just to even the skin tone.
Tipos de bases
Types of foundations
-Fluidas: estas bases pueden ir desde una cobertura muy ligera a una cobertura alta, son bases que pueden ir muy bien a casi todo tipo de piel, pero más específicamente van muy bien para pieles más secas y para pieles más maduras, si tienes la piel tirando a grasa asegúrate que la crema es Oil Free.
-Fluid: this type of foundations goes from light to high coverage, they goes well with almost all type of skins, but they work perfect with more dry skin and for mature skin, if you have oily skin make sure you choose a Oil Free version.
-Stick: Como cobertura alta tenemos las bases en stick, siempre tiene una cobertura alta o muy alta, son usadas normalmente para maquillajes de TV, cine o teatro. Estas bases se aplican con esponjitas y si están algo humedecidas mejor, también pueden ser usadas para cubrir cicatrices o marcas con una eficacia total.
-Stick: With high coverage we have the stick foundation, it always give high and very high coverage, it´s normally use in TV, Movies and theatre makeup. We have to apply it with sponge, and if it´s a little wet much better. It will coverage scars and marks.
-Polvos sueltos: Este tipo de base da una cobertura media, y está recomendada para pieles más grasas, ya que si tienes la piel seca te la resecaría aún más, también puede ser usada para sellar una base liquida o para subir o bajar un tono erróneo de base de maquillaje.
-Loose powder: This foundation will give you a medium coverage, I will suggest it for more oily skins, if you have a dry skin it won´t work good for you it will dry more your skin, you also can use it to set the fluid foundation, or if you have chosen the wrong fluid foundation tone you can raise or lower the tone.
-Polvos/crema compactos: Este tipo de base tiene una cobertura media alta, hay varias texturas, puede ser un polvo compacto o puede tener una textura más cremosa, suelen ser aplicadas con esponjillas planas. Este tipo de bases también son más recomendadas para pieles algo más grasas, tampoco la aconsejo para pieles más maduras porque puede acumularse en las arrugas o marcas de la piel.
-Press powder/cream: This type of foundation normally gives you a medium high coverage, you can find different textures, the powder foundation or more creamy foundation finish, you can use it with the flat sponge that comes with the product. This type of foundation works good for more oily skin.
-Mousse: Hoy en día hay nuevas tecnologías en bases como puede ser la textura mousse, suelen tener una cobertura media-baja, al ser una textura mousse es más cremosa y puede ser más adaptable para caras con tendencia seca, se puede aplicar con brochas de base o con esponjillas humedecidas.
-Mousse: Right now we can find new texture of foundation on the market, like mousse texture, with medium-high coverage and it´s more creamy texture it can be use for more dry skin, we can use it with foundation brush or with wet sponge.
-Oil Free: Este tipo de bases son perfectas para pieles con tendencia grasa, con acabado en mate, no recomendable para pieles mixtas o secas, las bases con acabado mate te puede ayudar a no necesitar polvos sueltos para matificar el acabado, eso no quiere decir que no lo necesites.
-Oil Free: These types of foundations are perfect for a oily skin, and with the mat finish are perfect for maybe not using loose powder to get a mat finish, but you maybe need it.
Metodos de aplicación
Tools to apply it
Hay varias herramientas para aplicar la base de maquillaje, dependiendo de que tipo de acabado busques, o que tipo de cobertura, o simplemente la rapidez que necesites.
They are many tools to apply the foundation, you would choose it thinking on what type of finish you want, what type of coverage you are looking for and also how quick you want to apply it.
-Esponjillas: Esta herramienta te d el acabado con mayor cobertura, también es la que puede tardar más en completar el acabado perfecto, es recomendable usarla humedecida para que sea más fácil aplicarla, buena para la base fluida, perfecta para la base en stick.
-Sponge: The sponges gives the highest coverage, also it will take the longest time, to get a perfect finish, for better application you will need to wet a bit the sponge.
-Beauty Blender: este tipo de esponjilla está diseñada para dar un acabado perfecto a tu base de maquillaje y para llegar a todos los rincones, perfecta para la base fluida.
-Beauty Blender: this sponge is designed to get a great finish on your fluid foundation, to get in every corner, perfect for fluid foundation.
-Aplicadores de fabrica: Estos aplicadores son los que suelen venir en los polvos compactos, están diseñados para que funcionen perfectamente con el producto con el que vengan, perfectas para polvos compactos.
–Other applicators: these applicators comes with the product, are designed to get the best of the products, they work great with the press powder.
-Brochas de base: Hay varias brochas de base que se pueden usar dependiendo del tipo de acabado que busques, también existen diferentes tamaños y formas, aquí os enseño dos, una brocha de diseño standar y una brocha plana para acabado de aerógrafo, estas tipos de brochas dan un acabado perfecto, aunque dependiendo de cual uses a veces necesitas dar un ultimo acabado con una esponjilla.
-Foundation brushes: We can find a different types of brushes in depends of what type of finish we are looking for, here you can see two types of foundations brushes, the standard and a stippling brush, with the standard sometimes you will need a sponge to get the perfect finish, and with the stippling you will get the airbrush finish.
-Las manos: la ultima herramienta y la que te da la cobertura más baja y más natural son las manos, al aplicar la base con las manos el calor corporal hace que se funda con mayor facilidad dando un acabado muy ligero y natural. También es perfecto para una aplicación muy rápida.
-Your hands: the last tool are your hands, it will give you the lightest coverage and natural finish, if you apply your fluid foundation with your hands, with the warmth of your hands will melt the foundation easier and faster giving you a very natural a light finish. This is perfect to apply your foundation very quickly.
Como elegirla el tono
How to choose your foundation tone
Una vez elegida el tipo de base que queremos usar, cogeremos tres tipos de posibles tonos de tu piel y las aplicaremos en lineas paralelas en un lado de la cara, una vez aplicadas las difuminaremos y comprobaremos cual nos da el acabado más natural o cual se funde totalmente con el tono de nuestra piel, esa es vuetra base perfecta, es nuestro color.
One you have chosen you type of foundation, we take three tones of that foundation that can work on you skin tone, create three lines in parallel and blend them in to your skin the one who blend to your skin tone perfect and more naturally, that´s your skin tone.
A la hora de aplicar la base tenemos que tener especial cuidado en las lineas del cabello y de la barbilla para no dejar cortes que dejen ver partes sin base, si llevas escote puedes bajar la base por el cuello y el resto del escote igualarlo con polvos de sol.
When we are applying the foundation we need to be careful with the hair lines and the jaw lines, to get better and more natural result blend it toward the hair and toward the neck, if you have neckline you can add bronzer to get an even tone.
Una vez aplicada la base para conseguir que se fije añadiremos polvos sueltos, si tienes la piel seca esto lo podemos saltar, aquí tienes la posibilidad de arreglar un posible tono erróneo en la base, con polvos más claros para aclarar el tono y con polvos más oscuros para oscurecer el tono.
Once you have applied your foundation you can set it with loose powder, if you have a dry skin you may want to skip this part, we can also use this step to adjust the foundation tone if we haven´t get it right, with lightest powder to raise the tone and with darker powder to turn down the tone.
