We will start with the explanation of what is contour and highlighting, is just enhance your natural face features by applying a dark shade on the shadows of the face or to gives les important to those areas, or use a light shade to highlight those areas you want more attention to it.
When we wont to change the facial features we are talking about visagism, which with the same dark and light technique we can change visually some features of your face.

We will start with the basic contour and highlighting, we will add shadows on the hallows of the cheeks, on the jaw line and on the temples. The lights will be on top of the cheeks, on the chin, on the bridge of the nose and on top of the eyebrows. This are the basic contouring and highlighting, if you want to do a visagism in some areas some of this will be different.

So if we want to use visagism to change visually some features here are some tips.
If you want to narrow and short your nose, add dark shades to the borders of the nose and to the tip, if you want to soft the bridge of your nose add some dark shade to get more depth.
If you want to short a long face shape add dark shades to the line of the hair growth, to the chin and on the hallows of the cheeks in straight line.
If you want to narrow your face, add the first way of contour, on the temples, on the jaw line, and in diagonal line on the hallows of the cheeks.
If you want to soft out a square shape jaw lift up the shadows and lights from their original places, creating a visually upper end of your jaw line, that will make it look softer.
