Nail Friday Metallic stripes manicure

Today is friday and today is Nail Friday, Verónica brigs us today a very cool manicure, striking and that needs a bit of your patience and steady hand.

Hi gusy, here we are another friday and another manicure, last nail friday we did a very summery fresh manicure, so today we are going for a more striking evening type of manicure in my opinion, the pale base tone gives a striking and special effect to the metallic ribbon we add to create a nice design, choose a nail polish and metallic lines on the same range of colors,

I will tell you everything,

Lilac nail polish as a base Essie 263.

Metallic ribbon for the design.

I had chosen a pale base, in this occasion I had chosen a lilac tone by Essie to be my base tone with a very nice semi glitter finish to it, but you can choose the one you like most.

Depending of the opacity of the nail polish you may need to apply different layers to create a complete full finish look, leave it to get dry, but remember some of the nail polish takes up to 5 hours to be completely dry so if you are jus giving it a few minutes make sure you take it extra careful to do the design.

Once the base is completely dry we will start with the design, I had chosen this ribbons to create the design, you can find it on nail supplies stores, or in the dollar stores o as me on ebay, I had chosen this purple cause it goes perfect with the lillac base I have on.

We will start doing horizontal lines parallel to the nail cuticle, we will take the ribbon and place it on the nail, it sticky in one side so it sticks nicely, we measure the ribbon and when we have the side we cut them and fix in the borders.

Do a line with the ribbon and fix it in before moving to the next one, how many to do depends of how you like it and how long your nails are.

While you are apply a ribbon line other can start lifting up from the borders, don´t worry we will add a top coat on top when the design is done and they will be completely hold on.

It should look something like that, we can do the design in all nails, but to don´t over crowd it we will do it in just three nails, but by all means if you feel like doing in all nails do so, or in just one or two, as you want…

Make sure you have the ribbon from one side to the nail to the other side of the nail, don´t cut it too short so it won´t look very professional, cut it a bit longer and use a nail file to remove the excess or a nail cutter for more precision.

As I told you I am going to do the design in three of the five nails, so let´s continue with the rest.

Second one done, make sure you add the ribbon in the same distance in all nails so the design looks the same.

And the third one, as you can see the nail from the middle finger has one ribbon line more cause the nail is longer but I kept the same distance between the ribbon lines in all the nails.

Add a top coat to the nails to hold on the ribbon on the nails and also to keep the rest of the nails with the manicure perfect as long as we can.

And we are done! here you have some picture of the finished manicure and as you can see it looks great, very original, and easy to do, you just need a bit of a steady hand and patience and you will have a very nice and cool manicure.
